FREDERICK M. (FRITZ) ASPEY
Mr. Aspey is a native Arizonan admitted to all state and federal courts in the State of Arizona, the United States Supreme Court, United States Court of Appeals to the Ninth Circuit, Navajo Tribal Court and the Hopi Tribal Court. Mr. Aspey is a former president of the Arizona State Bar and is a former judge pro tempore for the Arizona Court of Appeals. HAROLD L. WATKINS
Harold L. Watkins is the managing member of Aspey, Watkins & Diesel, P.L.L.C., a position he has held for thirty-two (32) years. Mr. Watkins is a member of the Arizona and California bars having been admitted to the bar in the State of Arizona in 1973. Additionally, Mr. Watkins is admitted to all Federal Courts in the District of Arizona, as well as the District of Colorado. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. He served until 2006 as one (1) of eleven (11) commissioners on the Arizona Commission on Judicial Conduct. That constitutionally mandated commission is charged with investigating and acting upon complaints of judicial misconduct or disability against judges at all levels from the Justice of the Peace to the Arizona Supreme Court. Mr. Watkins has previously served as a member of the Arizona State Bar Disciplinary Commission from 1982 to 1987 and as one (1) of five (5) Trustees of the Arizona State Bar Client Security Funds.
Mr. Watkins had been a lecturer in the area of attorney, judge and court personnel ethics. He is recognized by Martindale-Hubbell with its highest rating of AV. His practice is in the area of complex civil and commercial litigation. He has been named as counsel in several class action matters of regional and statewide significance. Mr. Watkins has also been involved in the prosecution of numerous matters arising from operation of cities and towns throughout the State of Arizona. He served as an appointed member to the first City Council after the 1998 incorporation of the City of Sedona and helped guide the City to its first elected council.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Watkins was a Deputy County Attorney in Coconino County and served in the capacity as the Chief Civil Deputy where he represented a vast array of government organizations and agencies in matters including everything from zoning disputes to bonding issues. His wide range of experience has lead to him being selected as special counsel for various governmental agencies the thirty (30) plus years of his practice.

LOUIS M. DIESEL
Mr. Diesel is admitted to all state and federal courts in the State of Arizona, as well as the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Diesel is a member of the American and Arizona Trial Lawyers Associations and has lectured numerous times throughout the state. Mr. Diesel works primarily in personal injury, medical malpractice and wrongful death litigation. In 1970, he was a clerk for the Arizona Court of Appeals under the honorable Lawrence J. Wren (deceased). Mr. Diesel was recently named a "super lawyer" for 2007 and has been included in the publication "Arizona's Best Lawyers."

BRUCE S. GRIFFEN
Mr. Griffen is a third-generation native Arizonan. He is a member of all state and federal courts in the State of Arizona, as well as the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Griffen limits his practice to criminal defense. He is a founding and former board member of Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice and a member of National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys. Mr. Griffen has previously served on the Criminal Rules Committee of the Arizona State Bar. He has lectured throughout the state on numerous criminal defense topics.

DONALD H. BAYLES, JR.
Mr. Bayles is admitted in all state and federal courts of Arizona. He is also a member of the bar of the Navajo Nation and the state of California. Mr. Bayles has lectured on trial techniques and advocacy throughout Arizona. Mr. Bayles has been a faculty member of the Arizona College of Trial Advocacy for the State Bar of Arizona. He is a past chair of the Committee on Character and Fitness of the Supreme Court of Arizona. His practice focuses on personal injury work and commercial litigation. Mr. Bayles is a certified specialist in the field of injury litigation by the State Bar of Arizona. He has served as a member of the Injury/Wrongful Death Commission of the Board of Legal Specialization for the State Bar of Arizona. Mr. Bayles has also served as a past chairman of the Parks and Recreation Committee of the City of Flagstaff.

ZACHARY J. (ZACH) MARKHAM
Mr. Markham is a member of all state and federal courts in the state of Arizona. His practice primarily focuses on domestic relations and personal injury. Mr. Markham was an adjunct associate professor at Northern Arizona University School of Business 1987-1989 and taught Business Law I and II. Mr. Markham was also a National Appellate Advocacy Competition Finalist and National Moot Court Team Advisor. He received the American Juris Prudence Award in Torts in 1981. While attending law school, he practiced law as a legal intern with the Gonzaga University School of Law indigent legal clinic. Mr. Markham was an attorney advisor to the Coconino County Superior Court Special Master program. He is presently seeking certification as a Family Law Specialist of the Arizona State Bar Board of Legal Specialization.

While in law school, she competed in the American Trial Lawyers Association trial team competition, winning the regional competition and placing second in the nation in 1998. Ms. Edwards sits on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity of Flagstaff, serving as president for the years 2001 and 2002.

DOUGLAS GARDNER
Douglas C. Gardner is a Native of Northeastern Arizona, and a fourth generation Arizonan. Prior to law school, Douglas worked for several years for Bechtel Corporation, one of America’s largest privately held corporations, as an accounting manager. Douglas attended law school and earned his M.B.A. simultaneously. During Law School, Douglas clerked for the Honorable Randy Haines of the United States Bankruptcy Court in the District of Arizona. Douglas also participated in the Arizona State Law Journal as a Staff Writer and then an Articles Editor. At the same time, Douglas also participated in Jurimetrics: The Journal of Law, Science, and Technology as an Associate Editor and then as a Senior Editor, where he was recognized as the “Outstanding Associate Editor” and published his case note. Douglas and his wife, Karleen, are the parents of three very active boys.

Carson T. H. Emmons is a native Arizonan raised in Phoenix. Mr. Emmons joined the law firm of Aspey, Watkins & Diesel, P.L.L.C. in 2005. While in law school, Mr. Emmons authored an article that appeared in the Arizona State Law Journal and taught constitutional law to high school students. Brian Y. Furuya
Brian Y. Furuya was born and raised in Los Angeles County, California, but is now privileged to call Flagstaff his home. Mr. Furuya began work with Aspey, Watkins & Diesel, P.L.L.C. as a law clerk in 2006 and joined the law firm as an attorney in 2007. He has also clerked with Hon. Lynn W. Davis, district judge for the 4th Judicial District of Utah, as well as with the United States Attorney’s Office in Salt Lake City. In law school, Mr. Furuya was Managing Editor of Articles for the Brigham Young University Journal of Public Law, and authored an article appearing in that publication. In addition to his work with AWD, he also currently serves as an adjunct professor of law with the J. Reuben Clark Law School, helping teach legal interviewing & counseling theory and technique.
