Attorney Monica M. Pertea joined ASPEY, WATKINS & DIESEL, PLLC in 2014 and now serves of counsel. Her practice areas include civil and commercial litigation, personal injury, business disputes, real estate and land use law. Ms. Pertea is also experienced in litigating claims against governmental entities arising out of private and public contracts, the Federal Tort Claims Act and state and federal civil rights laws. She was born and raised in Romania where she studied continental law for three years. Ms. Pertea moved to North America in 2005 and received a Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University, Canada. During her education in Canada she was part of the Golden Key International Honour Society. Ms. Pertea continued her legal education at the University of Arizona, where she obtained her law degree. While in law school she was a Writing Fellow for two semesters working with foreign students enrolled in the L.L.M. International Trade and Business Law Program. During law school, she participated in the Volunteer Lawyers Program and clerked for the Hon. Cindy K. Jorgenson of the United States District Court for the District of Arizona.
